Ohio (R) Gov. John Kasich seems to be a bit softer on crime than previously thought?

He commuted the sentences of several criminals including two death row inmates.

I didn't know this man had a heart.

I remember watching his pre-election debates with Governor Strickland.......

Strickland sounded like the sympathetic one: "We must do all we can to ensure no innocent person is ever executed."

where as Kasich was a bit insensitive: "The death penalty is needed in our system, it's important to punish these people."Ohio (R) Gov. John Kasich seems to be a bit softer on crime than previously thought?
I don't know the history, but it doesn't take heart, but a brain to figure out that he had good reason to commute these sentences.

Moody
Yes, Kasich as Governor has been less eager to execute people unlike many other Republican Governors

Unfortunately Strickland,a middle of the road Democrat, despite sounding more reasonable than Kasich, did have a few people executed during his governorship. Still he is slightly more reasonable on many other issues.

Hope this helpsOhio (R) Gov. John Kasich seems to be a bit softer on crime than previously thought?
