In a hard-won victory for Democrats and their labor-union allies, Ohioans decisively rejected the state's collective-bargaining law on Tuesday night, repealing Republican Governor John Kasich's signature legislation in a referendum that could reverberate into 2012.

People have spoken loud and clear, we demand respect and a right to join a labor union.Will the GOP finally comprehend that people have a right to a collective bargaining agreement?
Power to the People my man, Power to the People.
I agree that banning collective bargaining is not correct.
Every state should be a Right To Work state though. People should never be forced to pay for something that they do not want.
I would like to see a referendum on that point even though forced union membership is fundamentally unconstitutional anyways.Will the GOP finally comprehend that people have a right to a collective bargaining agreement?
Kasich made the mistake of including police and firefighters in the bill. That was his down fall. If ohioans want a big labor state, that's up to them, but when their state is broke and there are no jobs because of the big unions, well then no one to blame but themselves.
Move to Texas. Right to work state.
This was just the first of many contests with regard to labor unions. i predict the bolder the unions get with this small little victory, the more obvious it will become that they are part of the problem, not the solution. it is agreed that unions came at a time when our country needed them, however, since then many laws have been put on the books to protect the worker. Unions now simply feed the democratic political machine...that's their main focus. Prepare yourself...it will come to an end soon.Will the GOP finally comprehend that people have a right to a collective bargaining agreement?
We also rejected Obamacare.
I support public sector unions and workers, but I'm anti-Obama and liberal.
@John, lies and rubbish.
Unions and union workers will never get respect from those who are not participating in this effort to screw the general public. Go out and get a real job based on your merits and abilities. You probably can't without union help.
Enjoy paying higher taxes for those hard working "union" people. While they'll retire at 50 with a generous pension, you'll be working until you're 70 and hoping Social Security is still around.
when will libbies recognize that obamacare IS NOT WANTED-----------these same voters in ohio VOTED DOWN obamacare--------it WILL SHOW in 2012 and it wont be about unions
Congratulations on paying higher taxes to fund public workers retirement.
