Ohioans: What impact will the cuts Governor Kasich proposes have on education?

I was shocked to learn that some people appear to have no idea that state community colleges and state universities get tuition subsidies from their host states.

Kasich has proposed a 15% cut PER YEAR of the tuition subsidy, but demands a 3.5% tuition increase cap on state institutions of higher education. That being the case, what impacts will this have on access, cost and quality of education in Ohio?Ohioans: What impact will the cuts Governor Kasich proposes have on education?
Lets start with basic economics here. Education subsidies generally have high multipliers relative to other investments. I believe the value is around 2.12. You can pop out .1 for administrative expenses so your left with a multiplier of 2.02.

For every dollar invested you essentially make a profit of 100%. The rationale for this is this leads to greater human capital, greater consumption/production possibilities, and less need for government involvement in financing individual activities. This in itself leads to greater multipliers that lead to greater economic growth and future consumption.

America's college educated population has a current unemployment rate of around 5%

Most people with jobs generally require less government benefits because it is provided by the private sector. This also ameliorates the pressure on the government, which reduces expenditures but increases tax revenue from greater private sector production.

My conclusion is cutting educational subsidies/investments is the most moronic thing a government can do for its people. It mitigates competitiveness and in the long run is pernicious to growth. The U.K. is learning this the hard way.
The GOP Fascist movement is moving faster now across more States (Wisconsin, Utah, Indiana, Michigan, now Ohio).

“On May 2nd, 1933, the day after Labor Day, Nazi groups occupied union halls and labor leaders were arrested. Trade Unions were outlawed by Adolf Hitler, while collective bargaining and the right to strike was abolished. This was the beginning of a consolidation of power by the fascist regime which systematically wiped out all opposition groups, starting with unions, liberals, socialists, and communists using Himmler’s state police.

Fast forward to America today, particularly Wisconsin. Governor Walker and the Republican/Tea Party members of the state legislature are attempting to pass a bill that would not only severely punish public unions (with exception for the police, fire, and state trooper unions that supported his campaign), but it would effectively end 50 years to the right of these workers to collectively bargain.”

Try this fact- In the last 30 years inflation has risen just under 150% while college tuition has risen over 400%.

This is true for Louisiana colleges and I would believe that all States would be similar.
Kasich will restore order and fairness...and that ALWAYS bugs liberals!

The answer Altair gave is accurate. I vote his/hers BEST ANSWER!Ohioans: What impact will the cuts Governor Kasich proposes have on education?
