Is it just me or is our country turning more and more radical?

I am deeply worried about our country and democracy. I believe that people like Governor Kasich in Ohio and other radical tea party republicans, as well as fox news, are bringing this country on the path to becoming a totalitarian state ruled by white bigots and racists. I worry that as our economy worsens and china's economy rises, people will turn to radical measures. Am I wrong in thinking this? Is there hope that the tea partiers and people like Sarah Palin will not destroy our country? Should I move to Canada?Is it just me or is our country turning more and more radical?
Fiscal responsibility and respect for the hard working taxpayer is hardly "radical".
Sarah Palin is insane, there is no doubt in my mind about that. But i think most of these tea party people are just regular republican the same type that ruled during the bush administration (which were pretty bad) but are just trying to sound more radical to sound like a new republican party, but other than Sarah we don't really have to worry. I think every democrat in the nation should register as republican so that Sarah Palin can NOT win the primaryIs it just me or is our country turning more and more radical?

There have been stints in American history where radical rhetoric has dominated. It usually occurs during economic downturns.
