With all of its 'high taxes' and 'worker friendly regulations', how then does Ohio rank #4 in fastest growing economies in the US? Neighboring Indiana, which has taxes and regulations more in line with the GOP is SHRINKING. Why is that?
P.S. Ted Strickland just banned off shoring jobs in Ohio. Kasich voted to increase it back in the day.Why does Ohio now rank as the 4th fastest growing economy in the United States?
Auto supply companies must be picking up--good news! Also, Ohio has a lot of innovation initiatives and is getting into the green sector--good for them!
31st :: Ohio
Debt per capita: $5,948 (14th)
Unemployment rate: 10.1% (41st)
Home price change (2006-2009): -0.4% (37th)
Median household income: $45,395 (33rd)
While Ohio manages to reach 14th lowest debt per capita, it has an otherwise below average score in every other category. Notably, the Buckeye State ranks 41st in unemployment at 10.1%, and 35th in poverty, with 15.2% below the poverty line.

It's ranked 31 out of 50 states, which puts it well below average.
Sorry, facts hurt. Why does Ohio now rank as the 4th fastest growing economy in the United States?
Ohio's tax rates are not high like you think. they have lower than average personal income tax rates, lower than average taxes on goods like alchohol and tobacco, fairly average property tax rates.
the only somewhat high tax is on gas.
Indiana has a lower tax on gas but they have a higher sales tax on all products. indiana also has higher taxes on alcohol

You are soooo lost, dude!
Ol' OH is consistently somewhere north of 45th on the list of business-friendly states. And until the day finally comes that unions don't control industry in the state, it will stay there. I expect no change in that situation during my lifetime.
Earth to Dude, Earth to Dude! Explain this to me: I'm an entrepreneur who's looking for a location to build a brand spanking-new 250-person manufacturing plant. Why on Earth would I choose OH when I've got GA, AL, NH, AZ, TX, CO, ID, and a number of other states that won't treat me as a milk cow should I be successful?
P.S. The idea that ol' Teddie can "ban" the movement of jobs is so totally laughable that I FEEL sorry for you. Grow up, for God's sake. Why does Ohio now rank as the 4th fastest growing economy in the United States?
Actually if you look at Indiana overall, it is doing great. If you pick certain things about it, you can make it look bad but overall it has one of the best economies in the country now.
Ohio is a shithole who is turning to the GOP in droves to help it out of it's quagmire.
Yours is the biggest whopper of the day!
Let me guess, the jobs being created are of the $15/hr variety instead of the $50/hr variety. Also government motors (zombie) jobs...
Because they have obviously been one of the most desperate states, and they responded positively. I agree with the other users that we should check into what TYPE of jobs are being created though.
Wow all the Ohio unemployment checks must be make believe.
The environmentalist groups have not conquered Ohio yet.
check out the sight The state cut taxes to get companies to move there
When you're on the bottom, little changes appear to be big changes.
with lebron gone people can finally go back to work instead of sitting around watching the cavs on TV
People like yourself, in a free country begging the government to raise their taxes. Hell has frozen over.
