I need some ideas on decorating my 6 year old sons room in a military theme. I want it to look nice and put together and not tacky. He already has a quilt that is cameo with tanks and airplanes on it. He also has 2 model airplanes hanging from ceiling. Any ideas? How to decorate my sons bedroom in a military theme?Call your local recruiter and ask if they have any out-dated posters or promo materials they would like to get rid of. Look for posters with a military theme at your local mass merchandiser or poster store. Visit your local Army-Navy store for ideas. Frame pictures or calendar pages and hang them on the walls. Display toy G.I. Joes, tanks, and Jeeps on shelves. Make curtains out of camouflage material, and if your son has a lamp in his room, cover the shade with camouflage fabric, also.
When a war movie comes out, call your local theatre and ask if you can have one of the movie posters or standee after the movie is done playing. I used to work at a theatre, they will give these items away if you ask for them. Heck they may have some left from the last war movie, just call and ask. If you know a person in the military, or a veteran, ask if they have any memorabilia they would be willing to part with.
Last, but certainly not least, display a flag in the room. That is a symbol of what our military is defending, after all!
Hope these ideas help.
