What are some good jobs in the military for a girl to do?

I'm 17, and will be a senior this year in high school. I haven't really thought much about what to do when I graduate. Maybe the military would be good. What are some good jobs fro a girl in the military? Do I need any training to do those jobs? What about grades in high school? I know some colleges want good grades, but I only get mostly Cs and a couple Bs and one D last year. Is that good enough to get in the military?

Thanks! What are some good jobs in the military for a girl to do?I'm pretty sure you have 2 D's

Dont have an answer for you but you are freakin goergous.

Just so you know. What are some good jobs in the military for a girl to do?First, beware of joining the military for lack of something better to do. Some people do it and love it, but some hate it. This is not a job, it's a way of life and at least an 8 year commitment to service, country, integrity, honor, excellence, among other ideals (not necessarily in that order or with those particular words). Join because you want to serve.

The military doesn't consider grades for enlistment. As long as you have a high school diploma and the required ASVAB scores (see below), academically you're covered. You'll also need to pass the medical and security background tests.

The ASVAB, or Armed Forces Vocational Aptitude Battery, has 9 subtests. 4 of them count towards your AFQT, or qualifying score for joining a military service. Those are arithmetic reasoning, mathematics knowledge, paragraph comprehension, and word knowledge. Technically, you'll need a 31 for the Army (basically score better than 31% of those who take it), 32 for USMC, 35 Navy, 36 AF, and 40 USCG. However given the number of people trying to get in, you'll want to shoot higher. 50 is good, 65 is better, 93+ is best.

The ASVAB also contributes to determining what jobs (MOSs, AFSCs, or ratings) you qualify for in the military service of your choice. For instance, if you want to be a metal worker in the Army, you better score well enough to qualify in general science, auto and spot, mathematics knowledge, and electronics information.

The other 5 subtests are general science, auto and shop, mechanical comprehension, electronics information, and assembling objects (that's still paper or computer questions, not physical).

As for jobs, there are literally hundreds. You cannot take a direct ground combat job, but any administrative, intel, mechanical, electrical, medical, emergency, etc, etc non-combat job is open. Many civilian jobs have military counterparts (everyone has to get paid, have the law enforced, and get their vehicles fixed). Gender has nothing to do with it besides direct ground combat, look into what you like and what interests you. The military will train you for all of them with basic training (which trains you to be a basic Soldier, Airmen, Marine, Sailor, or Coastie) and initial job training (AIT, Tech School, MOS School and ITB/MCT, or A-School) and on-going training as well. The only real exception to all this are things like the bands, which require some skill before joining (but you still go to basic training, advanced training, etc).

Also, be aware that there will be plenty of people like the guys on this thread in the military. Though I'm sure you already know that one. What are some good jobs in the military for a girl to do?
A Female can do any job in the military EXCEPT a Combat MOS (Military Occupational Specialty, your job basically). To join the military, you need to be either 17 years of age with parental consent, or 18 years old. You also have to have either a high school diploma (grades don't matter, you just need the actual diploma), or a GED with 15 college level 100 credits. You also have to pass the ASVAB (Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery) test to join in the branch of service you choose, each one has a minimum score you need to get, the higher score you get, the more jobs you are eligible to "apply" for. If you get a high ASVAB score, you can choose a MOS that requires more intelligence. Don't worry, the test is easy, I got an 89 (out of 99) when I was only a Junior in high school, I however still decided to choose Infantry. ^_^

A Dear John writer
You are too pretty for the military...

Consider modeling. Pay is better and you won't get your face blown off.
