What happens when someone in the american military marries someone in he canadian forces?

I know if an american soldier married an american one the military will try their best to keep them together,

but say an american soldier married a canadian soldier.... is there anything they can do ?What happens when someone in the american military marries someone in he canadian forces?Sorry to say if wont happen as long as both of you are in the military . One of you will have to resign or wait till your time in service is up to marry. I do know that as long as you are under contract with the military service in the U S you have to finish your contract. There are only a few outs. If you are enlisted your security clearance is not to high so that is not going to be an issue ( this depends on your rank and since you are asking this question I am guessing you are at or below E-4).What happens when someone in the american military marries someone in he canadian forces?
Hello Shim,

Sure. The only thing that they can do is see each other when they have official military leave time taken.

The American Soldier gets 30 days leave each year. He will end up taking 3 ten-day leaves and going to Canada to sleep with his wife.

She, will get during her first 2 years of service only 10 working days of leave.

So she would travel to your US base and spend about 7 days sleeping with you.

So, 40 days a year. It's really bad - huh?

So, here is what to do. If you marry her, marry her in the USA so that US laws apply.

Then, when her enlistment is up she can separate from the Canadian Forces come to the US, get a dependent ID card and resident Green Card and be with you - forever.

It's bad enough for two Americans in the services these days to be together.

Best wishes,

Larry Smith

First SergeantWhat happens when someone in the american military marries someone in he canadian forces? No, they are two separate militaries from two separate countries. They would never be posted together, and it could cause issues with security clearances until one retires. They would also not be able to live together, because except the rare exchange posting, they would need to live in their respective countries. What happens when someone in the american military marries someone in he canadian forces?
Nope first you can need permission from each command to get married depending on your security clearance. No they would not be any guarantee you would be stationed anywhere near each other. What happens when someone in the american military marries someone in he canadian forces? No.
