The Navy SEALs took out Bin Laden. Are they the best in the US military? What about the Army, Marines and Air Force special force teams? Lately the SEALs have been the golden boys because of Bin Laden and a lot of other stuff, but it really depends on what you'd be looking for.



Every SOF unit has to justify their existence. If you don't bring something to the Spec Ops table that is different from a function another team already performs, then you don't get approved, you don't get funded, you don't get to exist.



Personally I have to side with Army SOF because they have some guys that are so secretive that they don't have names at all. They do scary crazy stuff. Teams that you will never hear about at all. You think Delta and SEALs are secretive, there's gotta be like half a dozen groups in the US Army that do things you didn't even know the US Army was connected with. Maybe the other branches of the military have people like that too, but I've been to Ft. Bragg, and these people are batshit crazy.



Even Delta, I think is better than anyone else. Not just cus I'm Army either. Delta won't take you unless you have a natural skill. A skill that is not taught in the Army, a skill that normal people don't have. They are all crosstrained to perform the duties of the other branches sof as well as having their own specialities such as air traffic control, combat life saving skills, enviromental reconaissance and meteorological skills, and jtac status for air support. They regularly operate with the team they are assigned to be that the Navy seals, the army rangers or special forces, or the army night stalkers. They do the things they do. By the way when bin Ladin went down the operation was delayed due to weather. A spec ops weather team was probably there to predict conditions.

There is no best! China's got really good ones, but they lack experience.

Americans, on the other hand, have been fighting war after war.
