Will being a pilot heading into the military help me stay flying once I'm in the military?

I am currently in civilian flight school and am planning on going into the military and I was wondering if after I got all of my certifications, would already being a pilot help me fly in the military?Will being a pilot heading into the military help me stay flying once I'm in the military?Having civilian certifications has very little bearing on you being selected for Military Flight training. It doesn't hurt and if it comes down to you and another guy with the same non-flight experience it might help.
