I was just wondering what happens to my car payment, college loans, and credit card bills if I joining the military? Will they hold off my payments for a while or the entire time I'm in the military? If not how do you make your payments? What happens with my debt and payments after joining the military?you are still obligated to pay ALL your debts, while serving. you need to make arrangements ahead of time since you will not have access to your pay for Basic training.. 8-13 weeks.
you can set up automatic payments through either your bank or through payroll deduction if you don;t just pay them yourself.
the only thing that might be deferred are student loans if they qualify. What happens with my debt and payments after joining the military?
I set up allotments. Or you could give someone you trust power of attorney and access to your accounts and they can take care of them while you are in boot camp. Once your done with boot camp you can take care of them on your own again. But good luck cause an E-1 in the military doesnt make Squat!!! They wont hold your payments while your in the military! You are still responsible for making your payments and on time, and if you dont you can be punished by the military including loss of rank and pay. So pay your bills and on time cause it will effect more than your credit score! What happens with my debt and payments after joining the military?Joining the military does not excuse you from debt obligations. The only instance I am aware that any creditor or lender will consider deferrment of payment is during deployment. BUT you continue to accrue interest. They do lower your interest rate during deployment (6%, though some may offer no interest while on deployment).
Like others have noted, to make your payments you could set up auto pay, or have someone act as your Power of Attorney so that they can pay on your behalf.
You still have to pay your bills.
While you're away and you cannot pay your bills yourself, you should have someone you trust to pay your bills for you with your money like a parent or a spouse or a friend. You give them a Power of Attorney.
If you have loans prior to joining, you can have them reduced to 6% APR through the SSCRA.What happens with my debt and payments after joining the military?you made me laugh. They dont care if you joined the military they still want there money. The army may pay for some college you may want to look into that.
While your in basic you may want to give someone a special power of attorney to pay some of your bills for you. or set up automatic withdrawl with you bankWhat happens with my debt and payments after joining the military?
You are still required to pay your bills, you will actually get into more trouble in the military if you don't pay your bills on time. Most people I know set up allotments or have someone help them while they are gone to basic.
No they will not hold off any payments due...
You must pay them as always...
Joining the Military does not exempt
anyone from meeting their Financial
obligations...What happens with my debt and payments after joining the military?
Life continues on that's what happens. You better keep up on your obligations or it could be very negative for your military career.
They're all right. Lovely how some people think joining the military will excuse you of debt or will be a waiver. If anything, I've seen just as many US Marines in debt as civilians.
No, your debts are still your debts; you are required to pay those bills that you promised to pay.
Your debt obligations will not stop. You need to keep making your payments the same way you're making them now.
they come with you.
you should set your accounts up for auto payment
