What type of things people in the military talk about when they hang out?

Cuz someone from the military said that they only talk about military things and that it bores him cuz they talk about what they do and sometimes it's too overwhelming but didn't especified what kind of things. And is that really true. What do you as a military talk about with other comarades?What type of things people in the military talk about when they hang out?WOMEN, SEX, LIFE, DEATH, Cars and sports is there anything else? Basically anything a civilian group talks about plus military **** and sometimes with the right people what we have been through.

When he "hangs out" with his friends from work they talk about whatever they want.... military related or not. They often talk about work/military things because that is one of the things they have in common, but they are also "normal" people who talk about "normal" things (sports, movies, politics, games, etc)What type of things people in the military talk about when they hang out?
Everything... Cost of baby shoes at Target; whether or not the Chief Yeoman was going to strangle the XO; what port we were going to hit next, and what the exchange rate was there; resume writing tips; how to get grease out of a car's upholstery; where's a good place to pick up chicks; latest music; whether or not the Fed was still relevant in today's world...



We're PEOPLE, we talk about people things, including our work. 'Since military things ARE (were, in my case) our work, of course military things get discussed.
Anything. Its probably mostley military because thats what we can easily debate about. Thats like asking " What does a group of cheerleaders talk about" at the game.What type of things people in the military talk about when they hang out?
According what the mood is. Women. Jobs. Job at hand. What going to do after a job. Day's events. New weapons. PX stock. What new is going on at the base. What came in at the base that day; aircraft, vehicles, personnel. Sometimes bash up a know it all civilian because he didn't know when to keep his mouth shut while at a bar! Oh, wait, that last one wasn't talking . . . nonetheless, I digress.



But if your friend is bored of the conversation why is he apart of them or anything? Or he can go find someone to talk about something else or something he is interested in. Or suck it up and enjoy the company of his brethren.
Normalthings like you and I they still talk about military but normal sh.it like you or I would.
there are alot of soldiers that only talk about work stuff, they just really dont have lives or hobbies. but hey, some of them are damn good at their jobs because thats all they do is think and talk about work. not everyone is like that though, but it can be hard to because we have long hours at work and can be stressed out
Yes a lot of the time conversations turn towards military quite a bit but we still talk about everything normal people talk about. Movies, music, girls, guys, sports, and so on. Although I will admit that a buddy and I had a conversation once consisting entirely of the word "HOOAH" (the Army's word for everything) in various inflections and tones. We did it as a joke but my wife made me sleep on the couch that night, but it was really funny.
yeah. we talk about that kind of stuff...
