VMI, The Citadel, Norwich and Ngcsu have student bodies with similar levels of academic achievement. I don't know the extent of preferences given to state residents of Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and Texas for admissions purposes.

While I am very fond of the tradition at VMI, I honestly think your best choice for a first rate college in a beautiful location with fun sports teams is Virginia Tech.



If you want the smaller college environment, VMI and The Citadel are both superb. I'd simply choose whichever one suits your career choice the best (and would give VMI the nod in engineering from my professional experience).





EDIT: Bruno, West Point is not one of the Senior Military Colleges...but that does not take away from its position, in my opinion, as the finest school in the United States.What senior military college is the best?Bruno: Westpoint is not a SMC, it's an Academy.



The six SMC's are:

-North Georgia

-Virginia Tech

-Texas A and M

-VMI

-The Citadel

-Norwhich



Personally I would go with one of the first 3. Because the last 3 are full-fledged military schools, the first 3 are normal colleges with just a large Corps of Cadets program, And I would rather have a more normal, free college lifestyle. But North Georgia is only Army, and much smaller than VT and Texas A and M. My cousin did AFROTC at VT, and liked it. But he said it was hard. So find 1 or 2 of the 6 you are most interested in, visit them and make a final decision.What senior military college is the best?
Westpoint. It is extremely difficult to get in. You need a senator's endorcement, you need amazing grades and be very athletic.
