I'm 16, I know for a known fact that I am joining the Military. I just want to know what are the requirements from the age and what I need to join. and as far as basic training, how many push ups, sits up and how many miles would i need. Also i was wondering how long would it usually take to become a E-6 (Staff Sergeant) and what would be the requirements? What are the requirements to join the military?Requirements vary from branch to branch. You must be 18 to enlist in the Military. But if your parent is willing to sign your enlistment contract giving consent then you can enlist when you are 17.

If you enlist for 4 years at first, you would make E-6 some time during your second enlistment depending on the branch %26amp; what job you have. Some branches have faster promotions than others, like in the Army you are more likely to make higher rank faster than in the Air Force or Marine Corps. Also some jobs have more opportunity for faster promotion. Go to the link I gave %26amp; read up! All the info is there good luck! What are the requirements to join the military?http://usmilitary.about.com/od/joiningth鈥?/a>
this link will tell you all the requirments. also if you browse around that site you might/should be able to find your answer about the physical fitness test. when the time is right you should contact a recrutier for addtional information.
As far as E-6 i believe that depends on the person, mos and other things. What are the requirements to join the military? It depends on which branch of the military you join. Definitely the Marines and the Army have the hardest basic training and will require more push ups, sit ups, pull ups, miles of running, etc. As far as how long it would take to gain an E-6 rank, that would depend upon which job you would choose after basic. Usually anything associated with combat types of training usually will result in gaining rank somewhat faster. If you went into infantry for example, you would quite possibly get promoted faster than you would if you worked in let's say the motor pool or supply.
