What percentage of the United States is Military?

I would like to know this, but also know it compared to the other countries. If the United States is a "Super Power" then I would assume we also have the biggest military?What percentage of the United States is Military?Actually if you go by the total number of troops trained for combat, Iran is the largest at over 12 million(They have a huge number of para military forces), Vietnam is second, china is third and the US is Eight.



However, if you go by the total number of active troops, the US is second, slightly ahead of India. However, like some one else said, we go for quality over quantity. Infact, even China is trying to cut down the numbers and focus more of training.
